The Cardiovascular Centre provides a full range of adult and paediatric cardiology services from diagnosis to treatment This clinic offers comprehensive assessment of symptoms such as chest pain, hypertension, palpitations, syncope, black outs, heart failure, TIAs and shortness of breath, and management of various cardiac risk factors such as hypertension, hyperlipidaemia, obesity, obstructive sleep apnoea, and family history of sudden cardiac death The following range of diagnostic services are available ECG, Holter monitoring, Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, Echocardiography, Exercise stress tests, Stress echo, Tilt table testing, Pacemaker Reveal Defibrillator testing Patients can undergo more specialised procedures in our hospitals such as cardiac MRI, dipyridamole thallium scans, coronary angiography, electrophysiological assessment of various cardiac arrhythmias such as supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia and bradycardia, atrial fibrillation ablation and ICD implantation Our cardiologists have admitting rights in the majority of metropolitan hospitals including Royal Adelaide, Calvary, Wakefield, Saint Andrew's, Ashford, Flinders Medical Centre and the Women's & Children's Hospital They have strong associations with the Cardiovascular Research Centre at the University of Adelaide, and their research continues to attract numerous awards and grant funding from organisations such as the National Heart Foundation Though based in Adelaide cardiology services offered by the Cardiovascular Centre are not limited to the metropolitan area We run satellite clinics in Port Lincoln and specialise in the efficient management of referrals from country South Australia, interstate and overseas
